UNION — A Spartanburg employment agency is still scheduling interviews for the nearly 50 applicants who attended a job recruitment event at the SCWorks Union office on Wednesday.
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a variety of jobs in Union and Spartanburg counties.
“We have administrative, forklift, inspection, packing, welding fabrication, general maintenance, delivery driver, and some customer services jobs,” Employment Consultant Debbie Harris said Thursday morning. “We have a total of 20 jobs we’ll be looking to fill within the next week to two weeks.”
Harris, who conducted Wednesday’s recruitment event, said that so many people came to the event that she was unable to interview all of them at that time.
“It was a very nice turnout, I got a total of 48 people,” Harris said. “I was not able to see all of them, but I’ll be scheduling them for interviews next week.”
Harris said that some of those who applied could be working within the next two weeks.
“I have some good candidates who I can possibly put to work by the end of the week and the end of next week,” Harris said. “We just have to do background, references, and drug tests before we can put them to work.”
Of the applicants she has interviewed so far, Harris said she has already put two to work.
Harris added that those who are interested in the jobs can still apply for them.
“They can apply to our website, www.expresspros.com,” Harris said. “Once they apply we have people who look at the applications every day and can schedule them to come in.”
