UNION — At least 20 of the more than 50 people that attended a recent job recruitment event at the Union SCWorks have gotten jobs and more could soon be hired.
On Thursday, the Spartanburg branch of the Talent Force staffing agency held a job recruitment event at the Union SCWork office with the goal of hiring workers to fill general warehouse positions that pay $9.50 to $10.50 an hour.
Talent Force Branch Manager Amanda Howard said Monday that the four-hour recruitment event was very successful, attracting a large pool of applicants, a number of whom have already been hired.
“It went excellent, we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout,” Howard said. “We had 52 people and we’ll put at least 20 of them to work.”
Applicants for the positions have to undergo and pass drug and background screenings. Howard said this process is still under way, adding that’s it’s possible that more applicants will be hired.
“The 20 we’ll put to work are those that have passed all their screening requirements,” Howard said. “So the number we’re putting to work may increase.”
Even if they didn’t make it to Thursday’s recruitment event, Howard said persons interested in applying for the positions should call the Spartanburg office of Talent Force at 864-641-1130.
