UNION COUNTY — The Union County Recreation Department sponsored its third annual Easter Egg Scramble on Saturday.
The free event was held at Union County Stadium, offering children games, face painting, visits with the Easter Bunny, prizes, and the final event, the egg scramble, which separated children into three age groups, allowing them to “scramble” for eggs, which were spread out across the field and filled with prizes.
“It was very warm in the sun,” said Recreation Department Program Director Jessica Gallman, adding that she and the rest of the department are thankful for those who stayed to participate in the egg scrambles.
Gallman said she would like to thank three members of the Union County High School Interact Club — Haley Stein, Tykeezie Thompson and Detric Means — who volunteered to help with the event. She said she would also like to thank the Recreation Department staff, the Union County Stadium staff, County Supervisor Tommy Sinclair, the Easter Bunny, and everyone else who helped with putting together Saturday’s event.
