UNION — A Wednesday job fair is part of Waffle House’s efforts to hire an additional 20-30 people to work at its new restaurant on the Duncan Bypass in Union.
Waffle House Human Resource Specialist Tifanny Geter announced Monday that the company will sponsor a job fair at the SCWorks office at 103 W. Main St., Union, on Wednesday from 10 a.m.-noon. Geter said Waffle House is looking to hire another 20-30 waiters, waitresses and cooks ready to start work at the restaurant immediately. She said those hired during Wednesday’s job fair will immediately go into training at the restaurant.
Geter said that applications will be on site and Waffle House personnel will interview applicants during the job fair. She urged anyone interested in working at the restaurant to dress professionally for the job fair and be prepared to be interviewed.
Located at 519 N. Duncan Bypass, Union, the Waffle House opened for business on Feb. 20 with a staff of 40-60 waiters, waitresses, and cooks. Twenty of those employees were hired through three job fairs Waffle House conducted at USC Union.
The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner plates around the clock.
Shortly after the restaurant opened, Geter said that while it was fully staffed, Waffle House was still looking to hire personnel because of its 24/7 operating schedule.
