UNION — Even though it is still being built hiring is already under way for the new Zaxby’s restaurant in Union.
Carolyn Barrs, Area Development Manager for Zaxby’s, said the new restaurant, which will be located at 630 N. Duncan Bypass, Union, will have a staff of 65 crew members and four managers.
The restaurant is still under construction, but Barrs said Zaxby’s is already hiring its management and will soon begin hiring the crew they will be managing.
“We’re hiring the management team now,” Barrs said. “Anyone interested in working in management at the store can apply at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“The crew we will start hiring in April,” she said. “They can apply online at zaxbys.com.”
Barrs said plans are to have the staff hired, trained and in place by the scheduled opening of the restaurant in early May.
When it opens, Barrs said the Union restaurant will offer the “standard Zaxby’s menu with chicken fingers, fries, and wings. “We have the Meal Dealz and Zalads (salads).”
The restaurant will be open 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
Barrs said Zaxby’s decided to build a restaurant in Union because it fit in with the company’s overall plans for expansion.
“We’re looking to expand throughout the country and Union looked like a good place to do so,” she said.
In addition to creating jobs and investment in the county and providing its residents with dining opportunities, Barrs said Zaxby’s plans to become heavily involved in local community activities as it has in the other communities where it has restaurants.
“We’re looking forward to coming there,” Barrs said. “We’re very involved in the community. We hold fundraisers to help organizations raise money. We also get involved in the community. We’re looking forward to doing that in Union County.”
