UNION — The public is being invited to join the students, faculty, and staff of USC Union in rolling up their sleeves to make what could be a lifesaving donation during today’s blood drive.

The Blood Connection will hold a blood drive today from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the student lounge in the Main Building of the USC Union campus.

While the blood drive is taking place on campus, the public is also welcome to take part in the event and donate blood.

Tara Fatemi, Senior Instructor in Biology, said that the need for blood is great. She said she has been told by a representative of The Blood Connection that because of the recent winter storms the organization’s supply of blood is low. Fatemi said that because of this every donor is needed.

Everyone who donates blood will receive a free t-shirt from The Blood Connection.

For more information about today’s blood drive send emails to fatemi@mailbox.sc.edu.
