JONESVILLE — After being delayed twice by winter weather, The Potters Storehouse will hold a food distribution on Monday.

Pastor Don Moore announced the food distribution Thursday afternoon. He said the food distribution had originally been scheduled for Feb. 5 but had to be postponed due to the winter storm that dropped an inch of snow on Union County.

Moore said he then scheduled the food distribution for this Saturday, only to have yet another winter storm system hit the county, this one bringing even more snow than the first one as well as ice. While the weather began clearing Thursday afternoon and is expected to continue to clear and warm up, Moore said that to ensure the safety of those who will be traveling to and from the event, he decided postpone the distribution again and hold it Monday.

“We are going to have a food distribution Monday instead of Saturday,” Moore said. “It originally should have been last Wednesday, but we had to cancel it because of the weather at that time. I told everyone it would be held Saturday, but because of this weather we will hold it Monday so everyone will be safe on the roads.”

Monday’s distribution will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Potters Storehouse is fully stocked for the distribution.

“We received a truckload of food on Tuesday,” Moore said. “So we have a lot of things to give out.”
