UNION — A correctional institution looking to hire officers will take part in a recruitment event at the SCWorks Union office Friday morning.
Tyger River Correctional Facility is hiring correctional officers who will work at the facility in 12-hour shifts with no rotation. Officers at the facility work 14 days a month and have two weekends off each month. The positions pay $24,000 and up and benefits including medical and life insurance, retirement, and vacation.
The recruitment event will take place at the SCWorks Union office at 103 W. Main St., Union, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
All applicants for the correctional officer positions must be U.S. citizens and have either a high school diploma or GED. No experience is required because training will be provided by the correctional facility. Applicants must also have a valid driver’s license.
The application process will also involve a background check, drug testing/screening, reference checks, and a motor vehicle check. In addition, applicants must bring a resume to the recruitment event.
