WHITMIRE — The Tyger-Enoree River Alliance (TERA) held the first of a four-concert series on Saturday.


The concert was held at the Strand Amphitheater in Whitmire’s Heritage Park and featured the Overmountain Men —a North Carolina band led by acclaimed Americana artist David Childers — and folk/bluegrass group, the Durbin Creek String Band.


TERA will host a free concert at the Strand Amphitheater in Heritage Park each Saturday in October. The events are open to all ages. Food and games will begin at 4 p.m. in the park, and music will begin at 5 p.m.


The following schedule is for the three upcoming concerts in TERA’s fall concert series:


Saturday, Oct. 12


5 p.m. — TBA


6 p.m. — Michael Reno Harrell


Saturday, Oct. 19


5 p.m. — Jon Durham


6 p.m. — Christina Raine & The Square Roots


Saturday, Oct. 26


5 p.m. — Albatross


6 p.m. — Mill Billy Blues


Each event will also include a corn hole tournament with cash prizes. Registration is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event.
