The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:


— Dwight Douglas Smith, 48, of 131 Hillside Drive, Union, was charged with armed robbery and possession of a knife during a violent crime around 2:15 p.m. Feb. 13. According to the arrest warrants, Smith entered Lil Cricket, located at 616 West Main Street, Union, wearing a gray ski mask and armed with a pair of scissors. The warrant states that once Smith was inside, he removed cash from the cash register and fled from the store. When officers apprehended Smith on the corner of O’Shields Street and North Evans Street, he had a total of $77 in cash in his pocket. A county deputy was at the location with public safety officers, and the deputy was the only officer to whom Smith would speak. Smith directed the deputy to the location where he threw the scissors and the trash can where he threw away the ski mask.


— John Russell Thomas, 26, of 209 Hill Street, Union, was charged with driving under suspension and possession with intent to distribute marijuana around 11:19 p.m. Feb. 13.


— Yvonne Means Dawkins, 45, of 121 Barnado Road, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 13.


The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:


— Kevin Scott Groves, 39, of 808 Webber Lake Road, Jonesville, was charged with filing a false police report around 2:10 p.m. Feb. 12. According to the incident report, Groves called and reported his vehicle being stolen, and around the same time, the sheriff’s office received a call from someone who witnessed a wreck in which the driver and passenger exited the vehicle and left with someone in a white truck. Officers located Groves, and Groves continued to state the vehicle and been stolen. Officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol, and Groves admitted he had been drinking. The report states he was also charged by the SCHP for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.


— Phillip Ryan Broadus, 19, of 112 Lybrand Street, Union, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and consumption of alcohol by a minor around 3:20 a.m. Feb. 14.


— Shaheem Steven Dixon, 17, of 605 South Duncan Bypass, Union, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor around 3:20 a.m. Feb. 14.


— Robert David Gregory, 45, of 117 Scout Drive, Buffalo, was charged with driving under the influence around 10 p.m. Feb. 13.


The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incident:


— A resident of Shady Drive, Union, reported on Feb. 13 that someone stole a dual sub-woofer and Boss 1200 or 1300 watt amp out of his vehicle some time between Feb. 12-13. The missing items are valued at $115.
