The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— Jamie Lebron Gibson, 41, of 803 Bentley Town Road, Union, was charged with driving under suspension, no vehicle registration, and expired license around 1 p.m. Jan. 6.
Christian Lane Gibson, 18, of 1002 Canal Drive, Lockhart, was charged with assault and battery and malicious damage to property around 1:40 p.m. Jan. 6.
Officers responded to a call from Jamie Gibson, who stated his son, Christian Gibson, had backed into his vehicle intentionally during an argument. When officers ran Jamie’s tag and license, they came back as suspended. Officers then went to speak with Christian Gibson, who stated he did maliciously hit the vehicle and threaten his father because he owed him money. Both Gibson subjects were transported to Union County Jail. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000.
— Austin Darryl Vieregge, 20, of 220 Walnut St., Union, was charged with driving under the influence around 8:15 p.m. Jan. 6.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incident:
— An Anderson resident reported on Jan. 6 that someone vandalized a tractor on the 300 block of Labaw Road in Union between Jan. 2-6. The complainant stated someone took a large piece of wood and broke out the windshield and windows of the blue 2008 New Holland Tractor. Damages are estimated at $1,500.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incident:
— A resident of Wilbur Street, Union, reported on Jan. 6 that he came home from work to find several items missing from his home. Items missing included a tablet valued at $300, a wallet with approximately $200 inside, eight pairs of shoes worth around $100 per pair, and six hats worth around $30 each. The victim stated he received three phone calls — at 12:33 p.m., 12:34 p.m., and 12:38 p.m. — from a restricted number while he was at work, and the male voice on the other end asked him if he was at home. A report will be turned over to investigations.
