UNION — An investigation led to charges from both the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Union Public Safety for a local man, as well as charges from the UCSO for another man and charges from Union Public Safety for a woman.
Jonathan Matthew Long, 33, of 1418 Main St., Buffalo, was charged with disorderly conduct (by the Union Public Safety Department) around 5:10 p.m. Dec. 11. Long was also charged with petit larceny by the Union County Sheriff’s Office at the same time.
Jason Carroll Austin, 39, of 114 Culbreath Heights, Union, was charged with possession of methamphetamine (by the Union County Sheriff’s Office) around 6 p.m. Dec. 11.
Randi Leigh Gregory, 25, of 609 Happy Valley Road, Union, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia (by the Union Public Safety Department) on Dec. 11.
According to incident reports, Union Public Safety responded to a disturbance at Wells Fargo, located at 210 E. Main St., Union, where Long was being loud and boisterous, yelling at his father, who confronted Long about forging his mother’s checks. Reports state Long appeared to be under the influence of a mind altering drug and had to be told several times to turn around and put his hands behind his back. He did so after being told he would be tased if he refused. Long was charged with petit larceny by the sheriff’s office for stealing checks, as well as Christmas presents valued at $175, from his own residence.
When Long was being arrested, officers learned Gregory was with him at the bank, attempting to cash one of the checks he had stolen. Arrest warrants state Gregory had methamphetamine as well as Schedule III and Schedule IV substances while at the bank.
Long told police some of the other stolen items were at a hotel room, and he gave officers consent to search. Austin was at the hotel room, and during the search, officers found methamphetamine.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office also reported the following incident:
— Residents of Happy Valley Road, Union, reported on Dec. 11 that items had been stolen from three separate vehicles while parked outside their residence. Missing items include $65 in cash, a .22 revolver pistol valued at $200, and a GPS system valued at $80. A report was turned over to investigation.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Tyler Dean Hudson, 22, of 203 Hicks St., Union, was charged with two counts of forgery around 1:20 p.m. Dec. 11. According to the arrest warrants, Hudson forged a check belonging to someone else for $57.19 on Nov. 8, and another for $122.54 on Nov. 9.
