The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— John William West, 42, of 102 Antioch Drive, Buffalo, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 9:55 p.m. Dec. 1. According to the incident report, West assaulted a woman at his residence, pulling her from a truck, dragging her across the yard, pushing her inside the house, up against a wall, and onto a bed.
— LaRhett Anthonia Stevens, 27, of 552 Edwards Road, Carlisle, was charged with breach of peace, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia around 4:35 a.m. Dec. 2. According to the incident report, officers responded to Stevens’ residence in reference to a domestic dispute. While inside the residence, officers located marijuana cigar “roaches” in an ashtray and an herb grinder.
— Damian Hose Rios, 18, of 230 North Valley Road, Landrum, was charged with littering and consumption of alcohol by a person under 21 around 9:40 p.m. Nov. 28.
— Jeffrey Bryan Blanton, 22, of 140 Sibley Ally, Una, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and transfer of alcohol to a person under 21 around 9:45 a.m. Nov. 28.
— Monty Chase Thomason, 29, of 303 N. 1st St., Lockhart, was charged with breach of peace around 11 p.m. Nov. 30.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— The Lockhart Fire Department reported on Dec. 1 that a Stihl chain saw/vent saw and two fire hose nozzles were stolen from the fire house. The items were valued at a total of $965.
— A resident of T Bishop Road, Jonesville, reported on Dec. 1 that someone burglarized and vandalized his home while he was away for the weekend. He stated someone stabbed a sharp object into the radiator of his Polaris RZR 900 buggy and his Polaris 700 four wheeler. The complainant estimated the damage at $450 per vehicle. The only item missing from his residence was a brown hunting motion camera valued at $129. The case will be investigated further.
— A resident of Honeybee Circle, Union, reported on Nov. 27 that her mailbox had been knocked down and run over. She estimated the damage at $100.
— A Taylorsville, N.C. resident reported on Nov. 29 that someone had been trying to break into his camper at a hunt camp in Whitmire. The complainant stated a commercial grade AC unit was stolen from his deer cooler, as well as two portable cook tops and a satellite dish. Missing items were estimated at a total of $2,700.
— The owner of two storage buildings located at Browns Creek Road, Union, reported on Nov. 29 that someone broke into the buildings and stole the following items: a Murray mountain bike valued at $120, a gas grill valued at $100, a Snapper lawn mower valued at $550, a well pump motor valued at $100, a one-push seed planter valued at $250, a Bear Kodia Reker bow valued at $100, and various types of wrenches and other hand tools valued at $300.
— A resident of Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Lockhart, reported on Nov. 29 that his home had been burglarized. The complainant stated he noticed his back sliding glass door was open on Nov. 26, but he didn’t think about it at first. Then, he noticed on Nov. 29 that a Bushmaster AR-15 valued at $1,700 was missing from his bedroom closet. Several Christmas presents were also missing, including a Vtech iPad valued at $70, an Xbox game valued at $60, and a microphone valued at $30.
— The owner of two trailers located on Eaves Road, Whitmire, reported on Dec. 1 that AC units had been stolen from both trailers, as well as a riding lawn mower and a push mower from his storage building. The two AC units were valued at a total of $7,000 and the mowers were valued at a total of $2,000. The case was turned over to investigations.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Travis Heath Hackler, 35, of 749 Bailey Road, Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence around midnight Nov. 29. According to the arrest warrant, Hackler pushed a woman into his vehicle and held her down while cursing at her, causing her to fear for her life and safety.
— Java Montique Smith, 21, of 239 Vaughn Road, Jonesville, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 10:10 a.m. Nov. 27. According to the arrest warrant, Smith was involved in a physical altercation with a woman in which he slammed her head into a door frame, pushed her to the floor, and slammed her head onto the floor. The warrant also states Smith pulled the woman’s hair out and busted her lip.
— Glenn Eugene Johnson, 48, of 309 Barnado Road, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 3:45 p.m. Nov. 29. According to the incident report, Johnson attempted to take food items from Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass, Union, but all items were recovered.
— Kayce Brooke McCutcheon, 25, of 210 Morningside Drive, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 7:15 p.m. Nov. 30. According to the incident report, McCutcheon attempted to take a portable DVD player and four packs of batteries from Walmart, located at 513 North Duncan Bypass, Union, but all items were recovered.
— Michael Deangelo Thompson, 37, of 717 North Church Street, Union, was charged with petit larceny around 11:35 a.m. Nov. 30. According to the arrest warrant, Thompson stole an amplifier from a car between July 14-20.
— Teresa Ann Brandon, 46, of 304 Rice Ave., Union, was charged with public drunk and contributing to the delinquency of a minor around 12:40 a.m. Nov. 29.
— Christopher Shane Vaughan, 39, of 1208 W. Main St., Union, was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child around 9:20 p.m. Nov. 29. According to the arrest warrant, Vaughan left a two-month-old child home alone with no adult supervision.
