The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:
— Timothy Drew Fowler, 23, of 244 T Bishop Road, Jonesville, was charged with third-degree assault and battery around 12:45 a.m. Oct. 8. According to the incident report, Fowler threw a woman to the floor, then punched and kicked her. Fowler was transported to Union County Jail.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
—A resident of Hawthorne Road, Union, reported on Oct. 7 that someone kicked over her mailbox, scattering her mail in a nearby ditch. The complainant stated this is the second time in three months someone has damaged her mailbox. The mailbox was valued at $50.
— A resident of Aston Brook, Buffalo, reported on Oct. 7 that someone pried the lock off of her storage building and took five rods and reels and a Robin weed eater from inside. The rods and reels are valued at $40 each and the weed eater is valued at $100.
— A Union resident reported on Oct.7 that she accidentally left her purse in the laundromat at 219 North Duncan Bypass, Union, after starting a load of laundry. When she went back to get the purse, it was missing. The purse — valued at $125 — was red with a gold medallion on the front. The purse also contained $555 cash, two debit cards, social security cards and other personal items. The purse was later found on the complainants front porch, and all property except the cash was recovered.
— A resident of Boatman Springs Road, Union, reported on Oct. 8 that someone threw a cement block through the front windshield of her car. Damage was estimated at $500.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrest:
— Sareema Rasean Smith, 24, of 127 Hillside Drive, Union, was charged with assault and battery around 6:55 p.m. Oct. 7. According to the arrest warrant, Smith struck and scratched a woman about the face while at an address on Lipsey Street in Union.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— On Oct. 7, officers responded to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, located at 427 North Duncan Bypass, Union, in reference to a break in. The store manager stated when he attempted to enter the side door, he noticed the key pad was not lit up, and when he entered, he noticed open packages on the floor in front of the manager’s office. Upon investigation, the manager noticed the door on the floor safe in the manager’s office had been broken off and the money from the entire weekend — $4,275.27 — had been stolen. Officers noticed a large hole had been cut out of the sheet metal in the rear of the building for entry. Officers also noticed the sheet rock had been removed, the toilet had been busted, and several wires had been pulled loose from the wall. The case was turned over to investigation.
— The owner of Fresh Air Galaxy, located at 907 E. Main St., Union, reported on Oct. 7 that someone had shoplifted a box of Claritin medication from the store. The contents of the medication box were emptied, and the empty box was stuffed into a drink display at the store. Security video shows a female shopping on both aisles and stuffing an empty box into a drink display. An investigation continues.
