The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Wendell Dustin Thomas, 43, of 114 Lowe St., Union, was charged with driving without a license around 3 a.m. Sept. 4.
— Luther Bernard Pearson, Jr., 24, of 103 Westminister Circle, Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 4:15 p.m. Sept. 3.
— Winston Clinton Adams, 59, of 101 Gallman St., Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 6:50 p.m. Sept. 3.
— James Mayfield, 52, of 5552 Woods Ferry Road, Carlisle, was charged with shoplifting around 7:10 p.m. Sept. 3. According to the incident report, Mayfield took meat valued at $180 from Walmart in Union.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— On Sept. 3, officers responded to the intersection of River Hills Road and S.C. 49 in reference to a vandalized vehicle. The car was scratched all over, and the windows and tail lights were broken. Damages were estimated at $4,000. Officers contacted the victim to whom the vehicle was registered, and he said the car broke down while he was on his way to work.
— A resident of Indian Trail, N.C. reported on Sept. 3 that a bicycle was stolen from the back of his camper while in Union. The victim said the bicycle — a red XC Pro 27-speed mountain bike — was on the back of his camper when he stopped for snacks at Li’l Cricket, located at 3200 Janie Glymph Gory Blvd., Carlisle. When he arrived home, the bicycle was missing. The bike — custom built with Mavic wheels, Ritchey carbon fiber handlebars, Scram X-9 brakes, Crank Bros. crank set and Rock shocks — was valued at $4,500.
