SPARTANBURG — The Rose Hill Candlelight Society of Union held its annual ball Saturday, Jan. 4, at the Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park, Spartanburg.


Members and guests were greeted by Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Gerrard Woodall, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ellis Langley, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Irving Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Scott Trakas, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shields Blackmon, Jr. Other board members in attendance included Mrs. Phillip David Maness, ball chair; Mrs. James Marvin Stepp, decorations chair; Mrs. Joe Franklin Nichols, mothers’ chair; Mrs. Gus Pete Diamaduros, presentation chair; Mrs. William Gerard Balkum, publicity chair.


Mrs. Woodall is president of the Rose Hill Candlelight Society and Mrs. Langley is vice president of the Rose Hill Candlelight Society. Mrs. Kelly is recording secretary, Mrs. Trakas is corresponding secretary, and Mrs. Blackmon is treasurer.


Mrs. Woodall welcomed members, guests, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lein Farr, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. James Wesley Long, and Mr. and Mrs. David Kevin Morrow as new members. Mr. Travis Baker Jenkins will serve as Master of Ceremonies.


Four young women were presented:


Miss Krista Marie Childers, daughter of Brandy Childers Palmer of Buffalo was presented by her uncle, Mr. James Scott Sherbert. Her escort was Mr. Brandon Loftis Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Kevin Morrow. Miss Childers is a sophomore at North Greenville University.


Miss Hannah Victoria Farr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lein Farr of Jonseville is a sophomore at Winthrop University. She was presented by her brother, Mr. Tony Lein Farr, Jr. Her escort was Mr. David Gregg Vinson, son of Mr. Bryan Vinson and Mrs. Marsha Gregg Vinson.


Miss Lauren Rachel Harrison, guest debutante, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Milton Harrison. She is a sophomore at College of Charleston. She was sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Gerrard Woodall and presented by Dr. Woodall. Her escort was Mr. Daniel Tyler Grady, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon Sprouse III and Mr. and Mrs. Dana Hugh Grady.


Miss Ada Ruth Roberts, guest debutante, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dwight Roberts. She is a sophomore at The University of South Carolina – Upstate. She was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. William Gerard Balkum and presented by Mr. Balkum. Her escort was Mr. Lance Oliver Kitchens, son of Mr. Larry Kitchens and Ms. Misty Lyons.


Two sons of 2013 were presented at the ball:


Mr. Konstantine Sammy Diamaduros, son of Mr. Sammy Gus Diamaduros and Ms. Hope Xanthakos Diamaduros. Mr. Diamaduros is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pete Diamaduros. Mr. Diamaduros is a sophomore at Wofford College.


Mr. Brandon Loftis Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Kevin Morrow, is a sophomore at Presbyterian College.


One bride and groom of 2013 was presented at the ball:


Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Moss Perrow of Saint Matthews, SC, are the daughter and son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Eugene Thompson, parents of the bride. Mrs. Perrow is a graduate of Presbyterian College and is a teacher at Edisto Primary School in Orangeburg. Mr. Perrow is a graduate of Newberry College and is self-employed at Perrow Farms in Cameron, SC.
