UNION — Eleven Foster Park students participated in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon raising $651 for the patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Math-A-Thon is a math enrichment program that is designed to correlate with our existing math curriculum while teaching students a valuable community service lesson.
It is important to participate in St. Jude Math-A-Thon, because St. Jude treats the world’s sickest children battling cancer, other deadly diseases, and does research at no cost to the families. According to Lisa at St. Jude this would be enough to pay for two chest x-rays.
The students who took part in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon are Lillian Turner, Thomas Robinson, Tycen Ward, Christopher Kirkland, Amelia Wright, Hannah Williams, Gabe Jordan, Dylan Weaver, Ryan Braun, Brianna Bailey and Kaleb Williams.
Foster Park Elementary would like to thank each of these students for their community service.
