UNION COUNTY — USC Union gives students free assistance with their financial aid at an event held on campus every year called College Goal South Carolina. It will be held at USC Union’s Central Building on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
College Goal South Carolina is a free event to help students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as FAFSA. The College Goal is open to all college-bound students, regardless of age. Even if you are not sure you will be attending college right out of high school, College Goal is still important to attend to ensure you will not miss deadlines when applying for college later on. During College Goal, students and parents will also receive financial aid advice, scholarship information and answer to all your questions.
If you plan on attending the event, please have the following information: 2013 Federal tax return (or other income documentation), social security number, driver’s license, 2013 W-2 forms or year-end pay stubs, records of money received for both students and parents/legal guardian, 2013 untaxed income records, 2013 bank statements for both student and parent/legal guardian, 2013 business and investment mortgage information, and alien registration card (if you are not a US citizen). Dependent students (under 24) will need to bring a parent or legal guardian.
Also, if you are planning to fill out the FAFSA online at the event, please have your PIN for the FAFSA available. If you don’t have your PIN, you can apply for it www.pin.ed.gov.
