8 a.m.-Until: First Baptist Church Family Life Center hosts a yard sale. Some proceeds will go to missions. There will be a huge variety of items for sale including Nandina bushes.
5 p.m.: Chambertown Community Lighthouse, 413 S. Mountain St., Union, hosts a Youth Conference. The theme will be “Why Jesus?” Guest speaker will be Larae Robinson, House of Favor, Vale, NC. Musical guest will be Union native Reggie Rocc of The Worship Center, Roebuck, SC. Bishop Tyra Parham, Pastor. There will be refreshments, door prizes, and a love offering. Come help us lift up the name of Jesus!

11:30 a.m.-Until: Bethel United Methodist Church Relay For Life Team serves a Noon Meal. The menu will include steak and gravy or fried chicken, cream potatoes and gravy or rice and gravy, butter peas or green beans, macaroni pie, slaw, rolls, tea, and dessert. Eat in or takeout. 4-6 p.m. & 8 a.m.-2 p.m.: Church of the Nativity, 320 S. Church St., Union, holds an Olden Days Variety Store Sale. On Friday, the sale will be from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Proceeds will be used by the church for community outreach. This will be huge sale, don’t miss it.

The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
