9 a.m.-Until: New Life Baptist Church, 502 Meansville Road, Union will be having a church wide Bake Sale. There will be homemade cakes, pies, cookies, and goodies! All proceeds will go to the Coastline Bus Fund. New Life…A Place to Call Home!

10 a.m.: Rev. Wynonnia McKissick, pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Whitestone will be the guest speaker at St. Paul Baptist Church’s Women’s Breakthrough Conference while Minister MeKesha Watson of Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Enoree will speak to the church’s young women. Noon-2 p.m.: Monarch Baptist Church hosts “Teen Summit” — Part 4. The theme is “Are You Ready To Let God Guide Your Life?”

10 a.m.: Mon Aetna Baptist Church’s Sunday Service will feature a sermon by Clebe McClary. A love offering will be taken.


10:45 a.m.: St. Paul Baptist Church celebrates Women’s Day. Minister Krystal Joy Calwile of Springfield Baptist Church of Laurens will deliver the message. Dr. A.L. Brackett, Pastor.


Noon: The Grace United Methodist Church Relay for Life team hosts a potato soup dinner following the church service in the fellowship hall. The meal will include soup, salad, bread, dessert and tea at a cost of $8/adult and $4/kids 12 years and under. Entertainment will be provided by Gospel Grass. Please call the church office at 427-1266 by Wednesday, March 12 to reserve your meal. Payment will be taken on the day of the event.


Noon: Covenant Baptist Church serves a meal with proceeds going to Relay For Life.


2 p.m.: The Red Hill Baptist Church holds its annual choir anniversary. Pastor Stephens and the church family invite the public to share in this service.


2 p.m.: The Pacolet River Baptist Sunday School Convention will observe its Annual Youth Program at the Baptist Center on Lovers Lane, Union. The church school youth in the PRBA will take part in presentations in the form of singing, dancing, acting, etc. The host church is James Chapel; the host pastor is Rev. Troy Moore; and the host superintendent is Sis. Sundres Glenn.


2:30 p.m.: Paradise A.M.E. Church holds its 14th Annual Men’s Day Program. The Rev. Gene Lilies will deliver the message.


6 p.m.: Philippi Baptist Church’s Evening Service will feature a sermon by Clebe McClary. A love offering will be taken.

2 p.m.: Wyatt’s Chapel Baptist Church holds “Silver Tea” program. The Rev. Dr. Jefferson N. McDowell, pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Laurens, is guest speaker.


2:30 p.m.: New Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 249 Bird St., Union, holds a One Day Spring Revival. The speaker is Rev. Anthony Washington of Jeter Chapel A.M.E. Rev. Carol Evans, Pastor.


3 p.m.: New Horizon Church, 109 Beltline Road, wil have its “Hats On Parade” program. The speaker will be Amy B. Worthy. Orlando S. Allen, Pastor.

6 p.m.: Boiling Springs 9th Grade Campus, Boiling Springs, hosts a Gospel Concert featuring “The McKaneys” with special guests “King James Boys” and “Oasis.” Doors open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 the day of the concert. 6:30 p.m.: The Pacolet River Baptist Sunday School Convention will observe its Annual Baptist Education Training Clinic. Repast is served at 6:30 p.m. and worship begins at 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday nightly. On Friday night, repast is served at 6 p.m. and worship begins at 6:30 p.m.


Ongoing Events


The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. Mitchell Chapel Christian Church, 381 Kelly Road in Union, holds services at its new location, 143 Camelot Drive in Union.


The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
