Hello everyone. Brrrrr, record breaking temps in South Carolina this year get ready for spring. As I write this edition, a possible snow maybe brewing for us this Tuesday. Hey, if it happens lets enjoy it then wish for spring to get here fast. Ready to do some spring yardwork, and so is Gottrocks The Birthday Fairy. He had to de-ice his wigs three times enroute to Whitmire. So lets get on with the birthday wishes.

According to Paula, “Caleb is the first and only boy in the family.” Grandparents are Mrs. Janie Lusk and the late F.E. “Spud” Lusk of Whitmire.

Congratulations to Alexandrea Cromer of Whitmire. “Alex” was crowned Miss Newberry College 2014. Alex is a 2011 graduate of Whitmire High School and is the daughter of Paige and Jimmy Cromer and the granddaughter of Mrs. Janie Lusk and the late F.E. “Spud” Lusk of Whitmire.
Alex’s cousin Lauren Couch won 1st Place in The National Junior Beta Conventions’ Poetry category, while Sydney Wilbanks took home 3rd place for Black & White Photography. Sydney is the daughter of Charlie and Chris Wilbanks. Sydney’s mom, Charlie, is a professional photographer and the owner of CWilbanks Photography on Main Street in Whitmire.

February 22 is also the date of the first event of its kind: The Father Daughter Dance. The dance will be held at The Whitmire Community Center. Tickets are $10. Guest speaker will be Rev.
