Hello everyone. Whew! We dodged a bullet, or should I say a tornado last week. The horrendous, monster of a storm that wreaked havoc on the Mid-South weakened en route to the east coast, we are so thankful for being spared.
Both “Garabund & Gottrocks” the Deadline & Birthday Fairies were tossed about in the tempest, but they made it back to The Whitty. I have the birthday and local news ready to go.

Several students from WCS recently participated in the South Carolina Read In. Students enjoyed a trip to Columbia, guest speaker-Gov. Nikki Haley, and a nice photo made with Sen. Ronnie Cromer on the State House Steps.

The weekend of May 10 is the “144th Celebration of Service” for the Members of Cedar Grove A.M.E. Church. Members can contact Fannie Hopkins. Former and deceased members will be recognized at the Sunday service.
The First Baptist Church Annual Missions Golf Tourney is Saturday, May 24. There is an entry fee, and a 9 a.m. tee time. Sign up via the church’s Facebook page or call the Church office at 803-694-2173. Coordinators are Jimmy Moss and Loraine Long. The members of Whitmire Golf Association will be on hand to help out with carts and scorecards. Proceeds will benefit the Missions Team and their planned trips.
