UNION — On Jan. 19, 2014, Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church celebrated Baptist Men’s Day.
The day started bright and early, with the men cooking breakfast for the church.
The men were in charge of the worship service, leading the music and giving two messages of encouragement and attitude of service to God.
Donavan Wells led the congregation in a song of praise “You Are Holy.” Donavan, also spoke on how we are created in God’s image. How we should be in awe of God’s greatness. We are created to rule over the earth God created and honor His creation. (Taken from Genesis Chapter One.)
David Lawson spoke on keeping focused on God daily, using Proverbs 29:18 as his focal passage. He used putting a puzzle together as an example of following God. Without the corner piece you cannot complete the puzzle. Just as in our lives without Jesus (our cornerstone), our lives are not complete. Our lives are like puzzles, the pieces come together as we journey though this life for Jesus. One day when our lives (our puzzle) are complete, we will stand in front of our maker.
I would like my life to be complete as Jesus has planned. What about you?
The service closing was led by Rev. Carrol Caldwell. He encouraged the people to not let our lives fall short of what Jesus would want us to be.
You are invited to attend Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church, if you are looking for a home church, or maybe you need Christ in your life. All are welcome.
