11:30 a.m.: St. Paul Baptist Church, Union, will present a Black History Program. The program will include a presentation on the history of the NAACP organization; a profile of Thomas Jennings presented by Kelton Weaver; and a profile of Lewis Latimer by Spencer Weaver. Dr. A.L. Brackett, Pastor.
11:45 a.m.: Bethany AME Church holds a Sunday dinner sale. Dinner will consist of one meat, three vegetables, tea, and dessert. The menu will include meat loaf, ham, and baked chicken; green beans, cabbage, pinto beans, cream potatoes, mac and cheese, dressing rice/gravy; roll; tea; and assorted desserts.
Noon: The Buffalo United Methodist Relay For Life Team sponsors a Soup Lunch. Lunch includes soup, bread, dessert, and drink.
2 p.m.: Mrs. Maretta Jeter and the Youth Ministry of Bethel Baptist Church, 904 Pea Ridge Highway, Jonesville, sponsors a program entitled Young, Gifted, and Black. The speakers will be Shaunfhillip Dash, Troy Ragin, Delontia Brannon, and Manning “TJ” Jeter. The master of ceremonies will be Jamarcus Henderson. Hot dogs will be sold as a fundraiser to benefit the youth that will travel to Washington, DC, in April of 2014. The public is invited. Rev. James E. Tillotson, Pastor.

11:15 a.m.: Bethesda Baptist Church, Santuc, holds a Black History Month Celebration. Guest speaker will be Pastor Robert Charles, Rock Hill Independent Church, Jenkinsville, S.C.

The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
