11 a.m.: Fairforest Baptist Church of Union will serve lunch with menu that includes meats (Cube Steak or Fried Chicken), sides (Fried Okra, Butter Beans, Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, Rice & Gravy, and Green Beans). The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 4-12. Children 3 and under eat for free. Call in at 11 a.m. or dine in.
11:30 a.m.: St. Paul Baptist Church, Union, will present a Black History Program. The program will include a presentation on the history of the Black National Anthem by Shante Glenn; a profile of George Washington Carver presented by Steven Jennings; and a profile of Gerald A. 2:30 p.m.: Bethesda Baptist Church, Santuc, celebrates its 124th Church Anniversary with the Rev. Michael Glenn, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of Spartanburg, along with his congregation. Rev. Roderick Olgesby, Pastor.
Tuesday, Feb. 4
10 a.m.: First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, holds its next Food Pantry in the Christian Family Life Center and its next Clothes Closet in the church basement. Persons seeking assistance from the Food Pantry should be in line no later than 9 a.m. as the line usually begins forming by 7 a.m. A picture ID is required.
Wednesday, Feb. 5
5:30 p.m.: The Laura Farr Sunday school class of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 573 Wesley Chapel Road, will have their Poor Man’s Supper. Menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and sweet tea. Desserts will be extra. Guest singers will be Kellie Allen and Patty Turner, singing starts at 6:15 pm. Proceeds to benefit the youth of Wesley Chapel. Take outs call 427-5319. Everyone is invited and everyone is welcomed.

Noon-Until: Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1622 Kelly Road, Union, serves Sunday Dinner. The menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, steak and gravy, creamed potatoes, rice and gravy, macaroni pie, green beans, lima beans, slaw, rolls, tea, and dessert. The cost is $8 per person. Saturday, Feb. 15
5:30 p.m.: Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Road, Buffalo, holds a Wild Game Supper. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the meal will be served at 6 p.m. Guest speaker will be Michael Lord (Michael Lord Outdoors). There will be food, fellowship, door prizes. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 8 and under. If you purchase eight tickets at table can be reserved for your group with advanced notice. The Union Moms In Prayer group meets each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center of Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. This is an informal gathering of moms, grandmothers, and any other interested ladies who would like to be a part of this important ministry of praying for the students, teachers, and staff of our schools. There is also opportunity, for those who wish, to ask prayer for specific individuals. All ladies are welcome to participate. The Missionary Auxiliary of the Pacolet River Baptist Association has an Emergency Food Pantry in the rear (annex) of the town hall in Jonesville. The pantry is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and other times by calling the numbers posted on the sign at the entrance of the annex. Bring identification and proof residence.
