Jarvis Sentiel Cunningham, 24, of 176 Sedgefield Drive, Union, SC, was sentenced to 151 months imprisonment.
This was a joint operation between the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Union Public Safety Department. Between May 2011- June 2012, the drug task force made 4 separate charges against Cunningham for selling crack. In June 2012, Cunningham also met with an undercover operative where he sold a quantity of crack and a .380 caliber pistol. He was indicted for 4 counts of Distribution of Crack and Sale of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Due to his lengthy criminal history of crimes including burglary, drug charges and firearm convictions, the Judge handed Cunningham a lengthy sentence.
Sheriff David Taylor says that Cunningham was a major supplier of drugs and other illegal activities in Union County for several years and was considered a violent offender. Sheriff Taylor also states this arrest and sentence was a major strike against the continued on-going drug and weapons trade in Union County.
Sheriff Taylor would like to commend the Drug Task Force for taking this case to Federal Court and he hopes to see more of these type indictments in the future.
