UNION — The body of a man reported missing has been found by The Union Public Safety Department which is seeking information on the whereabouts of his step-son.
In a statement released Wednesday evening, the Union Public Safety Department reported that the body of Raymond Davis, 61, of 902 Union Blvd., Union, had been located in a wooded area that consisted of dense underbrush near his residence. The press release states that foul play appears to be a factor.
Union County Coroner William Holcombe has scheduled an autopsy to be performed on Davis’ body this Friday.
Public Safety officers had been searching for Davis since Tuesday night after a relative who was concerned about his welfare reported him missing. The relative was concerned about Davis’ welfare due to a report that he had been in an argument with his step-son. The relative and Public Safety officers went to Davis’ residence and inspected the premises and it was during the inspection that the possibility of foul play was first suspected.
The press release states that the Public Safety Department is still seeking information on the location of Davis’ step-son, Travelle Lamar Burros, 41, of 902 Union Blvd., Union. During the initial missing person investigation, the department named Burros a “person of interest.”
Anyone with information concerning this report is asked to contact the Union Public Safety Department at (864) 429-1713.
The press release also states that the Public Safety Department would like to express its gratitude to the Foothills Search and Rescue K9 Unit for their assistance in the case.
