The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:
— Lauren Inman Vassey, 34, of 130 Austin Road, Union, was charged with shooting a firearm while under the influence around 3:06 a.m. March 12. According to the incident report, Vassey accidentally shot herself in the foot. After treatment at Wallace Thomson Hospital, she was transported to Union County Jail.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Carem Road, Union, reported that scrap metal was stolen from his yard several times between March 2-10. Missing items included half-inch copper pipe, stainless steel strips and angles, brass valves and aluminum strips. The items were valued at a total of $500.
— The owner of a car was located at 843 Main Street, Buffalo, reported on March 11 that it appeared someone had tried to drill the lock out of the door to the electrical and money area of the car wash. There was also a report earlier in the week of someone trying to cut open the door.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Cynthia Zala Lawter, 50, of 306 Railroad Street, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 11:10 p.m. March 11. According to the incident report, Lawter took a 20-ounce Mountain Dew from Lil Cricket, located at 616 West Main Street, Union.
— Travis Eric Vaughan, 19, of 634 Riley Road, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 3:40 a.m. March 12.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incident:
— The owner of a shop located on Barnado Road, Union, reported on March 11 that after being away from the shop from over a month, he discovered that his Mitz 4G63 motor, valued at $800, was missing. He filed the report in case someone attempted to sell the motor for scrap metal.
