KELLY-KELTON — Two weeks after he was placed on administrative leave Bryan Farr has been removed as chief of the Kelly-Kelton Fire Department.
The Kelly-Kelton Fire Board met for nearly four hours Monday night, most of it in executive session, as it heard from witnesses as part of an internal review of Farr’s behavior while responding to a fire outside the district.
The board placed Farr on administrative leave on Feb. 23 while it investigated allegations that he had challenged the orders of the orders given by the Incident Commander at a fire scene in the Lockhart Fire District. The Kelly-Kelton Fire Department responded to a structure fire on South 5th Street in the Lockhart Community during the early morning hours of Feb. 8. The board received information that Farr had argued with the Incident Commander over the course of action the Incident Commander had chosen to take in battling the blaze.
While the board removed Farr as chief, it allowed him to remain on the department’s roster.
After removing Farr as fire chief, the board appointed Wesley Pruitt to serve as interim chief.
