UNION COUNTY — The USC Union Lady Bantams Softball Team has signed three more players for the 2017 season.
In a statement released Monday, USC Union Head Softball Coach Amanda Warley announced Broome High School students Gracie Phillips and Katelyne Powell and Goose Creek High School student Kaitlyn Fowler had recently signed with the Lady Bantams.
Phillips, who plays Center Field, has a Batting Average of .429, OBP .481, 23 RBIs, and 7 Stolen Bases. In academics she has a GPA of 3.3.
“I believe Gracie will be a great leader for USCU,” Warley said. “She will also be a great example to her teammates and be a big impact offensively and defensively for our program.”
Powell, who plays Middle Infield/UTL, has a Batting Aveage of .333, OBP .439, BB 18, and 9 RBIs. In academics she has a GPA of 3.4.
“I look forward to having Katelyne apart of our program for the next two years and I can’t wait to see her persevere on the field and in the classroom,” Warley.
Fowler is a Pitcher and in academics has a GPA of 4.26. Her high school and community honors include Beta Club, Honor Roll, Class Rank of 25 out of 460, Academic “To 40 Students,” and Charleston Miracle League Volunteer.
“I am excited to have such a great player in the community and on the field to come into our program,’ Warley said. “I look forward to seeing Kaitlyn prosper on the field and in the classroom.”
