UNION COUNTY — Families with sons — and daughters — who want to play Union County Dixie Youth or Dixie Boys baseball during the 2017 season have until Friday to get them registered.

For the past two weekends Dixie Youth and Dixie Boys have been having sign-ups at the Timken Sports Complex.

Dixie Youth/Dixie Boys Secretary Kelly Small said that as of this weekend more than 400 children, mostly boys but also some girls, have signed up to join a Dixie Youth or Dixie Boys team.

Small said that while this past weekend was the end of regular registration, late registration is being held this week through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at the Timken Sports Complex. She said that a late fee of $10 will be added to the registration fee for each child signed up this week.

Dixie Youth and Dixie Boys offer Competitive Baseball for the following age groups and the following fees — which include the late fee — will be charged to register a child to play in those age groups.

• Tee Ball — ages 3 & 4 — fee $45

• Machine Pitch Juniors — ages 5 & 6 — fee $45

• Machine Pitch Seniors — 7 & 8 — $55

• Minors — ages 9 & 10 — fee $65

• O’Zone — ages 11 & 12 — fee $65

• Pony League — ages 13 & 14 — fee $70

All fees are non-refundable.

The age groups are based on Dixie Youth Age Rules and Local League By Laws.
