UNION — The next meeting of the Rotary Club of Union will feature a guest speaker from the South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads.

Jordan Marsh, Vice President of the South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads, will speak during a meeting of the Rotary Club of Union at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Covenant Baptist Church.

The South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads is a non-partisan, nonprofit, statewide organization made up of business leaders, associations and chambers of commerce who believe fixing roads is critical for the state’s continued prosperity. The alliance is the only statewide organization that exclusively advocates for additional, sustainable and recurring funding for SCDOT.

Marsh’s presentation is set to review the issues at hand relating to South Carolina’s highway condition, needs, legislation, and what citizens can individually do to advocate for better roads and bridges.

“We believe our educational campaign is critical to maintaining momentum for a long-term transportation bill and are excited for the opportunity to share our overview with the Union Rotary Club,” Marsh said. “These speaking engagements provide an excellent platform for our organization to educate constituents on the need to invest in our highway system and increase public involvement in the campaign to fix South Carolina roads.”

Marsh has been part of the alliance since 2014, and he manages day-to-day operations including membership development, government affairs, public relations and social media programs. Raised in Florence, Marsh graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in public relations. Marsh began his career by working in the offices of Senator Lindsey Graham and the South Carolina Senate Finance Committee. He joined the South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads after working on local and statewide elections in South Carolina.
