UNION COUNTY — Christmas will be a bit merrier for the four people who are the first winners of UCARE’s “Twelve Days of Christmas.”
For more than a decade, the employees of Union County have worked to help the less fortunate through UCARE. Organized and operated by county employees, UCARE raises funds at Christmas and uses them throughout the year to help those in need.
UCARE’s main fundraising event is the “Twelve Days of Christmas” in which raffle tickets are sold by county employees and other charitable groups. Each person who buys a ticket not only gets to help the less fortunate but will also get a chance to have their name drawn during the Twelve Days of Christmas — Dec. 12 through Dec. 23 — and win $100.
On Wednesday, UCARE announced that the following individuals are the winners for the first four days of the Twelve Days of Christmas:
• Roger Bailey
• Dennis Trammell
• Dianne Smith
• Alice Riddle
There is a drawing each day of the 12 days at 9 a.m. on WBCU Radio. There will be only one win per person.
Tickets are now on sale at a cost of $1 a ticket or $5 for six tickets and will remain on sale through Dec. 22. They can be purchased at the Union County Courthouse, Union County Airport, Union County Stadium, Timken Sports Complex, and WBCU.
