UNION COUNTY — The first-ever youth football “Union County Bowl” will be held on Monday.

The first Union County Bowl will be held this Monday, Nov. 28, at Union County Stadium. The event will include two football games. All-Star teams were selected from the Union County Recreation Department Stinger majors and minors leagues, and those teams will take on the Union County Bulls travel football teams.

The first game — minors (9u) — will kick off at 6 p.m., and the second game — majors (12u) — will kick off at 7:30 p.m.

Cheerleaders will perform halftime shows at the games, and admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors.

Union County Bowl representative Tim Garner said he is pleased that this event will take place.

“We felt like this was an obvious next step as we try to expand our youth football programs here in Union, and this gives these groups of young men and women a platform to showcase their talents,” Garner said. “The kids that will be on the field at these games are the kids that will be playing on Friday nights in the coming years.”
