Kelly presents program on ‘Genealogical Research’

Special to The Union Times

UNION — The Fair Forest Chapter, NSDAR, met Tuesday, October 4 at Grace United Methodist Church.

Regent Margaret McCarley called the meeting to order. She welcomed Mrs. Ola Jean Kelly, curator of the Union County Museum.

For the devotional, ”The Lord’s Prayer” was prayed. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States, The American’s Creed, and the Salute to the Flag of South Carolina were recited by the chapter.

The program was presented by Mrs. Ola Jean Kelly regarding “Genealogical Research.” She told about resources available in the museum when applying for DAR membership. Then she told some wonderful historical stories about people in Union County. It was enjoyed by all of the members.

The National Defense report was given by Mrs. Margaret McCarley.

Our next meeting will be a luncheon at Andy’s on Tuesday, December 6 at noon.

The meeting was adjourned by Mrs. Margaret McCarley.
