UNION — The Sims Middle School Volleyball team continued to struggle this week losing three out of four games in a match against Carver.
Coach Tracy Duncan said that the Lady Tigers fell short Wednesday’s match, even those both Sims and Carver had difficulties on the field.
“Serving was a struggle and the Lady Tigers played with the same sluggish momentum as Carver did,” Duncan said. “Game one the score was 25-22 (and) game two 25-23. Game three was won 25-23 (but) game four lost and they won the match, 25-17.
“Each game was so close, with failing to get a serve or a pass over which won it for Carver in games one and three,” she said. “Game four I think we just fell apart. This match should have been won by the Lady Tigers.”
Duncan said that even with the losses the team has experienced “so much improvement and the girls are actually doing well on their skills. This game just didn’t show it.”
The Lady Tigers will play away Monday at McCracken and the final game of the season is at Granard on Wednesday. Duncan said the single elimination tournament will then be held early Saturday morning at Byrnes High School.
