MONARCH — From the Jazz Age to the Age of Rock N’ Roll, music has been a big part of America’s popular culture over the years and some students at Monarch Elementary got to dance to those different kinds of music and dress according to the fashions and styles of those eras.

The Monarch Elementary School program for March was “Dancing through the Decades.” The program involved the history of dance from 1920s and “The Charleston” to 1960s and “The Twist.”

Many students dressed in the styles of the different eras for the enjoyable program attended by many MES parents and grandparents, some of whom no doubt remember some of those dances because they were dancing them back when they were young.
