DUE WEST — Former Union County basketball standout and Erskine College Junior Kristin Giles hit a milestone in her college basketball career.
Kristin Giles had 991 career points going into Wednesday’s game at North Greenville. She went on to score 13 points, passing the 1,000-career-points mark with 1,004 points.
Giles currently averages her career best 15.08 points per game, while shooting 90.41 percent from the free throw line, which leads Conference Carolinas and is seventh best in Division II.
Giles is currently second in the conference in field goal attempts with 330, fourth in field goals made with 127, and fifth in three-point field goals made with 46.
Head Coach Russ Gregg said the Erskine coaches and players are happy for Giles.
“Kristin has been a very consistent scorer for us the last three years,” Gregg said. “It’s very impressive she has reached this milestone in her junior season.
