UNION COUNTY — The Union County Arts Council will have Toni Elkins as the Juror for the 2015 Art Exhibition.
Toni has been elected to 18 signature memberships including the South Carolina Watermedia Society, Watercolor USA Honor Society, Rocky Mountain National, Texas Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society. She has paintings exhibited in Permanent Collections in the Ashville Museum of Art, Soringfield Missouri Art Museum, Randolph Macon Women’s College, Clemson Botanical Gardens and many other sites.
Toni M. Elkins of Columbia, SC is an abstract artist and has been judging art shows since 1993. In April 2015 she was Juror for Artfields Junior Art Exhibition in Lake City, SC. She won the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Award for contributions to South Carolina Art in 1999 and the Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Contributions to SC Watercolor Society.
Toni’s abstract work is mostly done in mixed media and she believes that painting to music is both compelling and relaxing. She feels different kinds of music can change your rhythm patterns and move you to another genre. The most recent awards for her work are: SC State Fair: Clark Ellefson Merit Award, 2014 and The American Artist Magazine, Honorable Mention Mixed-Media, 2013.
Toni’s work will be exhibited at the UCAC Gallery, 116 E. Main Street, Union, SC Sep. 24 through Oct. 30, 2015. A presentation Abstraction Intimidation will be given by Toni at the UCAC Gallery on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at 11 a.m.
