GREER — The Union County High School wrestling team was victorious over Greer in a final score of 63-18 last week.
Results were as follows:
In the 220-pound division, Union County’s LaBrayon Woods defeated Avery Montemayor in 1:27.
In the 285-pound division, Greer’s Jordan Hawthorne defeated Union County’s Cam Lott in 0:42.
In the 152-pound division, Union County’s Dontaye Brandon defeated Greer’s Avery Porter in 0:22.
In the 182-pound division, Union County’s Grayson Lancaster defeated Greer’s Gabriel Rice.
In the 195-pound division, Union County’s Jerome Henry defeated Greer’s Brycen Newman.
Several of Union County’s wins were by forfeit, including Travon Hill in the 126-pound division; Zac Valentine in the 106-pound division; Zy Stewart in the 113-pound division; Druquan Burkins in the 120-pound division; Jordan Kershaw in the 138-pound division; Shawndarian Caldwell in the 145-pound division; and Zack Williford in the 170-pound division.
Union County had to forfeit in the 132-pound division to Greer’s Gabriell Brown and in the 160-pound division to Greer’s Matthew Mason.
Sims Middle School Wrestling
Congratulations to the Sims Tigers wrestling program, which had 14 wrestlers qualify for the Upper State Middle School Championship. The UCHS Wrestling Facebook page thanked Sims’ Coach Sikes, Coach Dollinger and Coach Nix, as well as all parents who donated food and went to support.
