UNION COUNTY — A two-student tennis team from Union County High School finished 3rd out of 110 teams at a competition on Saturday.
On Saturday, 110 high school fishing teams competed in the Palmetto Boat Center High School Fishing Trail. The competitors fish for the highest combined weight for a five-bass limit. There were 100 out of the 110 teams to weigh fish.
The team of Tyler Buice and Hunter Enlow from Union County won 3rd place in the tournament with 12.88 pounds.
First place went to the team of Britt Myers and Tanner Maness (York) with 13.83 pounds, and second place went to Austin Bennett and Austin Davis (Woodmont) with 13.23 pounds, which included a 7.3-pound large-mouth bass that took big fishing honors.
Another UCHS team — Dray Davis and Brandon Lawson — also competed in the tournament, weighing in over three pounds of bass.
