• Descendants of C. Lester and Martha V. Greer will have their annual reunion at Sardis United Methodist Church in the social hall at 1 p.m. Each family is asked to bring a well-filled basket. Plates, cups and utensils will be furnished.
• The next meeting for the Union County Historical Society will be at 3 p.m. in the meeting room of the museum. The guest speaker will be Lewis O’Shields and he will speak on the recent memorial dedicated to the Vietnam soldiers killed from Union.

• The Union County Democratic Party meets at 5:45 p.m. at 201 Porter Street. The meeting is open to the public.

• The Union County High School Drama department will hold its annual DRAMA CAMP from 9 a.m. until noon each day. Open to ages 6 through 12, students will participate in theatre games, creative dramatics activities, and present a short play for parents and guests on Friday, June 26, on the stage at Union County High School.
The camp is taught by UCHS drama teacher, Ralph Lawson. Assistants are Bess Lawson (theatre major at College of Charleston) and Jessie Cantrell (theatre major at Limestone College). Parents can register their children at the main office at Union County High School; the registration deadline is Friday, June 19. The fee is $40.00 per child. For more information call 427-1709.

• The Union Lions Club is collecting used/unwanted eyeglasses, hearing aids and cell phones. There is a collection box outside of the Lions Club building, located at 134 E. Main Street, Union. • The Union County Arts Council hosts “Painting with Coffee” each Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon at the UCAC gallery on Main Street in Union. • The Union County Arts Council Art Gallery on Main Street in downtown Union hosts “George Ligon Journey Down Under.” This exhibit includes a large body of landscape photography produced by George Ligon during a summer trip exploring the islands of Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. Ligon began his career in New York City, specializing in commercial and fashion photography for 27 years. He has since become an active member in the artists community in Greenwood, South Carolina, continuing to ripen his photography and shift his focus to fine art.
The exhibit will be on display through June 28 and a reception will be held Thursday June 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Art Gallery.
