The regular fall semester began Aug. 20 and the Fall II semester begins Oct. 19. The regular semester is 16 weeks in length while Fall II is for eight weeks.
Dr. Stephen Lowe, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, said the Fall II semester classes are more intense because students are covering the same material but in roughly half the time they would during the regular fall semester.
Lowe said the main reasons for the Fall II semester is, first, to give students who may have registered too late for the regular semester to nevertheless take classes and, second, to give those students who may want to change a class the opportunity to do so without endangering their GPA.
