UNION — The Union County Gamecock Club will host their annual Tiger Burn on Monday, November 20 at 6 p.m. in the Truluck Activity Center on the Campus of USC Union.
The Union County Gamecock Club hosts this event annually the week of the South Carolina versus Clemson Football game. The event serves as a time to celebrate the season as well as get Gamecock fans ready for the big in-state rival game the following Saturday. Past guest speakers have included: George Rogers, Michael Roth, Scott Wingo, Langston Moore, Steve Taneyhill, and many others.
This year’s guest speaker will be former Gamecock Baseball standout Trey Dyson. Trey played baseball at South Carolina under Ray Tanner from 1999-2002. Trey started 37 games as a freshman for the Gamecocks, and capped off his Carolina career by hitting .268 his senior season with 15 doubles, 18 home runs, and 63 RBI. During Trey’s time at South Carolina the Gamecocks won two conference titles, appeared in the NCAA tournament three times, won three regionals, and finished as National Runner-up in 2002 at the College World Series. Trey now is an analyst for Gamecock baseball games on the SEC Network.
Cocky as well as the Gamecock Cheerleaders will be on hand and available for pictures.
The menu for this years event includes: Country Style Steak or Fried Porkchop, Mashed potatoes and Gravy, Macaroni Pie, Green beans, tea or water, and choice of dessert. The meal will be provided by Midway BBQ.
Tickets are now available at the USC Union Bookstore located at 311 E Main Street, Studio 201 on Depot Street in Jonesville, by calling 864-426-0464, or you can contact a Union Gamecock Club board member. Tickets are $13 for adults, $10 for children 3-8, and free for children under three. This event is open to the public.
