UNION COUNTY — Despite their 2-8 season record the Union County High School Yellow Jackets are playoff bound. Last Friday night’s 58-21 win over Travelers Rest secured the 3 seed for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets ran the ball very well against the Devil Dogs gaining 427 yards rushing in the contest. The Jackets also had 252 yards through the air in the contest for a total of 679 of offense in the game. The Jacket defense also preformed well allowing only 188 yards of total offense.

Quarterback Kesean Glover led the way for the Jackets rushing with nine carries for 146 yards and one touchdown. Glover was also 12 for 15 passing for 252 yards and four touchdowns. Quadrik Smith was the Jackets leading receiver with four catches for 140 yards and three touchdowns.

The Jackets will open the AAAA playoffs against the Belton-Honea Path Bears. BHP comes into the game with an 8-2 record overall with their two loses coming to TL Hanna and Greenville. The winner of this game will take on the winner of South Pointe and Midland Valley in round two.
