UNION COUNTY — The clients of the Union County Department of Disabilities & Special Needs (DSN) Board will get to enjoy more recreational activities thanks to a donation of nearly $1,000 raised by a local runners group.

In a statement released Thursday, Union County DSN Board-Residential Supervisor Harmony Greer, announced that the Brat Pack had organized the “Just Glazed 5K” fundraising event which was held Saturday, Oct. 7. Greer said the athletic event raised $973 which was donated by the group to the Union County DSN Board. She said the board would use the donation to enable its clients to participate in recreational events such as the Union County Fair, parties, and vacations.

“Union County DSN Board appreciates the generosity and support of the Brat Pack,” Greer said.

The Union County Disabilities and Special Needs Board mission statement is to improve the quality of life and promote services for citizens with developmental disabilities through personal choice utilizing the person centered approach to services.
