UNION — Eight students described as hard working, conscientious, well-behaved, and respectful are the latest winners of the Sims Middle School CLAW Award.

In a statement released last week, Sims Principal Eric Childers announced that the following students were the winners of the school’s CLAW Award for September:

7th Grade

CLAW stands for Citizenship, Leadership, Attitude, and Work Ethic. The award recognize students who demonstrate these qualities both within and without the classroom. Each month Sims teachers nominate the students they feel have earned the award by demonstrating the qualities it honors. In the nomination forms they submit about the students, the teachers include comments about the qualities the students possess that qualify them for the award. These are the comments the teachers made about September’s CLAW Award winners:

Abby Gregory is extremely studious, well behaved, polite, and a genuine young lady.

Madison Dinneen is the ideal student. She is conscientious, helpful to others, and an extremely hard worker.

Olivia Matthews is well mannered, always does what the teacher says, and works extremely hard. Her work ethic is second to none.

Matthew Brewington is a wonderful student inside and outside the classroom. He is well behaved and very polite. Matthew always completes his assignments and does his best. He is a wonderful role model for the class.

Brooke Adams is a very conscientious student. She is hard working, always prepared, and respectful to her classmates and teachers. She sets an excellent example for her other classmates.

Malik McDonald is always doing what he is supposed to. He has great manners, and will do anything for anybody. He always keeps a smile on his face and every day comes in and says “I’m going to do my best today!”

Ja’Maria Gregory is a smart and motivated young lady. She always strives to do her best and helps others when they need it. She sets a great example for other students!

Tanner Hardin is always well mannered, always gives 100%, and is always well behaved in every class. He is the archetype model student. Not only does he do well in all classes, he is a great friend to many students outside of the classroom.
