Fair’s mascot now named ‘Rocky’

By winning the contest, Marissa received a family 4-pack for free admission to the fair which will be held Oct. 17-21.


UNION COUNTY — Less two weeks before it begins the Union County Fair now has a name for its mascot.

The Union County Fair held a Name the Mascot coloring contest during September, offering a family 4-pack of tickets for free admission to the fair. The winner was announced via social media on Oct. 3.

The winner, Marissa Butler, is a third grader at Union Christian Day School. She named the fair’s rooster mascot, Rocky.

The Union County Fair will be Oct. 17-21. Gate admission is $5 for kids and $7 for adults. This year’s fair will feature The Flores Thrill Show, Lew-es Comedy Circus, livestock shows and more!
