Fundraiser for Ruthie ‘Ru’ Dean

Hosted by the Putman Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class, the event is a fundraiser for Ruthie Dean, a Sims Middle School student who will undergo surgery this week to remove a brain tumor. All the funds raised at the social will go toward Ruthie’s medical bills.


Saturday, Sept. 23

11 a.m.: The Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church Family will be celebrating The Four Gospel Program at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesville.

Pastor Edward Pressley, Members, Family, and Friends of CGMBC cordially invite your Pastor along with your choir, members, and friends as we celebrate this special day.

Guest speakers for this occasion will be Lady Janice Pilgrim of St. Vaughnsville Baptist Church, Sister Jocelyn Peake of Shiloh Baptist Church, Sister Shirley Porter of Spartanburg, and Minister Kim Glenn of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

1:30 p.m.: Senior Citizens will have their Bingo Gathering at Jeter’s Chapel AME Church.

A snack will be served.

The event is free.

All seniors are invited to attend.

5-7 p.m.: The Putman Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class will host a BBQ Social to raise funds for the medical expenses of Ruthie Dean, a Sims Middle School student who is undergoing surgery to remove a tumor from her brain.

The social will be held at Putman Baptist Church, 3692 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, Buffalo.

All Miracle League of Union County players, family, fans, volunteers, and sponsors are invited to attend as is the general p public.

Miracle League players eat at no charge while everyone else is welcome to eat for $6.

So come on out and enjoy some good BBQ and a time for socializing, all for a very good cause.

Sunday, Sept. 24

11 a.m.: Bogansville United Methodist Church, 4052 Buffalo West Springs Highway, Jonesville.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Gary Peterson.

Sunday, Sept. 24

Noon: Augsburg Lutheran Church (next to Brian’s Auto Body Shop) will have a Spaghetti Supper and Bake Sale.

The church will be serving spaghetti, meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, dessert, and drink.

$8 per plate.

Eat in or dine out.

Will deliver five dinners or more.

6:30 p.m.: Trail Life Troop SC-0332, a Christian Outdoor Scouting Program sponsored by Buffalo Baptist Church, will hold a Join The Trail on Monday in the Social Hall of Buffalo Baptist Church.

This outdoor program is for boys in 5-K through age 18. There are different activities for various age groups.
