UNION — The Union County Fair will return to town on Tuesday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Oct. 21, but before the fun begins, the fair needs help naming its mascot. The fair is looking to its local students to help with this process through a coloring contest, and one of those students will win free tickets to the fair.
Coloring sheets with the fair’s rooster mascot will be given out to students in Union County schools and will also be available at the local Subway at 444 N Duncan Bypass. Students will need to color the sheet, write their choice for the rooster’s name and return it to Subway in order to be entered to win.
The contest will run until Saturday, Sept. 30, and a winner will be chosen soon after. The winner will be given a family four pack of tickets to the Union County Fair.
“I love being involved with the fair, and this coloring and mascot naming contest is a great way to get the community involved and excited about the fair, as well. The Union County Fair is all about family and fun, so we hope we can really make a family’s day with these free tickets,” Executive Director Paul Winters said.
